HERE IS A SAMPLE CHARACTER AND BACKGROUND STORY:

Name: Thessaly Hopkins
Age: 24
Hair: Short, red
Eyes: blue
Height:
5' 8"
Occupation: Waitress
Thessaly grew up with her identical twin sister, Charlotte (aka "Charlie") in Braums.
They did everything together, even worked as waitresses at the same mom and pop restaurant. (Having fun confusing the customers
at times.) Everything that Thessaly loved came crashing down about six months ago, however. After seeing a movie at
the local theatre, the two girls were walking home when they were attacked. The serial killer had been passing through
Braums while running from the police and his evil desires took over. Thessaly was bound and made to watch as the killer
raped and stabbed her sister. In a rage, Thessaly wriggled out of her restraints and turned on the man, biting and scratching
and anything she could to protect her sister. As she did, Thessaly left a deep gouge in his face. Caught completely
off guard and no longer feeling the thrill of control, the killer took off into the night. Thessaly sobbed and cradled
Charlie in her arms, but one last weakened smile for her sister, Charlie died.
Thessaly, although physically unhurt
by the ordeal, suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and was hysterically blind for an entire month. The bond
between twins is very mysterious, documented through the ages and it seemed that Charlie was still there beside her. The
police were unable to track the killer and over time, the case went cold. Thessaly couldn't take the pain of working
in the restaurant without her, so she quit and decided to go back to school. As she was packing her things into the back
of her car, however, a man pulled up and asked directions to Silent Hill. As Thessaly turned to oblige, she froze and
began to tremble uncontrollably. It was the killer! His face now scarred, the man smiled at her and didn't even recognize
the woman who had given it to him. Thessaly swallowed hard and pointed him in the right direction. The killer thanked
her politely and drove away.
She knew that she should call the police, but Thessaly was suddenly refilled with
all the hatred and pain she had tried so desperately to let go. Getting in her car, Thessaly drove not toward the highway
leading to her college, but toward the neighboring town of Silent Hill.
The character, Raine, introduced herself to my character after she found them parked outside
Alchemilla Hospital. Reading that, I responded:
"Nice to meet you," Thessaly offered a kind, but unsure handshake. All this was like a bad
dream. "Where are you going when you leave? My car, um...sorta fell of a cliff." She laughed a little at the obsurdity
of it all, but quickly stopped when all their somber faces stared back. All of them appeared to have narrowly escaped
a horrible ordeal, dirty and injured. Raine's dark hair was slightly matted and her face smudged with dirt. They looked
mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted. What happened to these people? Did she hear her right? MONSTERS? What
KIND of monsters...? Should she worsen the situation by telling them that a serial killer was in town now? No need for
that yet, she decided. Hopefully, this Fife will be back soon and they can get the hell out of here. There was a moment
of uncomfortable silence between them, then brushing some red hair behind her ear, Thessaly spoke. "So...where did Fife
go?"

Here are some very good Silent Hill RPG groups on Yahoo! or you can start your own!

OTHER HORROR RPGs:
This is not based in Silent Hill, but if you like the genre, you'll get a kick out of this game.
Very cool! The game begins with a resort town called Serenity Lake. The lake's spirits and dark past come back to claim what
is theirs...much to the dismay of resort employees and tourists! You can play as one character or as a group. Since all characters
are required to be realistic (in that they're not superheros or martial arts experts) you have to really use your imagination.
I highly recommend this RPG.
